Imphal, February 19 2009: NPO tribe presidents comprising of Mao, Maram, Thangal, Poumai and Zeliangrong Senapati Zone have questioned the motive of the perpetrators as to why the Kasom Khullen SDO and his two staff were murdered in Senapati district after they were abducted from Ukhrul district.

Taking serious note of the brutal killing, an emergency presidential meeting of the Naga People's Organisation (NPO) was held today, conveyed an NPO release.

Observing that the culprits of the heinous crime have the malicious intention to create communal tension and antagonism among the people of Manipur, it appealed to the general public of Manipur and civil organisations to cooperate and assist investigating agencies so that the culprits are booked at the earliest.

Urging the State Government to nab and punish the culprits, the NPO cautioned the State Government that failure to come up clean in connection with the murder will compelled the NPO to launch any form democratic agitation.
