Imphal, November 12 2009: Even as the State Government has issued an order regarding amalgamation of JNIMS and JN Hospital doctors, the mass casual leave stir of the JN Hospital doctors is still continuing.

According to the order issued by the Commissioner (Health and Family Welfare), a nine member core committee would constituted to form another committee which would look into amalgamation of JNIMS and JN Hospital doctors.

The committee should submit a report to the Government within a month.

The core is headed by Commissioner (DP) is chairman.

Informing about the Government's order, Health Minister Ph Parijat called a meeting with representatives of the Working Committee of JN Hospital Employees' Welfare Association this afternoon.

Giving a copy of the Government order, the Health Minister appealed to the JN Hospital doctors to call off their stir.

However, the agitating doctors maintained that the matter would be decided after discussing the order in a general body meeting tomorrow.
