At the initiative of the Chief Minister a meeting will be held at the IB Road synod Hall of churachandpur district headquarters at 11 am of November 3 to discuss on provision of relief materials/assistance to families who had returned home after staying at Mizoram owing to alleged harassment by some UG activists.
Informing six MLAs of the district, officials concerned, community leaders and representatives of philanthropic and student bodies to be present at the proposed meeting, a statement issued by the Secretary to Chief Minister conveyed that 21 families had not yet been extended relief materials and financial assistance as had already been provided to 685 residents of 155 displaced families.
In addition to delay in submitting details of five families, 16 more families were recommended by the Saikot BDO for extending relief measures, added the statement.
Regarding the 16 families, it explained that these group were not staying at the refugee camp opened in border areas of Mizoram but were put up with their respective relatives in the neighbouring State.
