Quake damage Ayush Centre at Andro

Imphal, April 09 2011: A yet to be inaugurated building constructed as AYUSH Centre inside the complex of a Public Health Centre at Nongpok Keithelmanbi in Andro Assembly Constituency of Imphal East district suffered damaged in the earthquake that was experienced in Manipur sometime back.

The building was reportedly constructed with Manipur Development Society as the work agency.

Along with MLA of Andro A/C, a team of mediapersons today went to inspect the extent of damage caused to the building.

During the cause of inspection of the tin-roofed RCC building, it came to light that no quality have been maintained in the construction work although a huge quantity of fund had been sanctioned and time taken for the construction work.

Unhappy over the manner of executing the work, MLA Shyamkumar categorically stated that the building seems to have been constructed to endanger the lives of the people even though the Government had provided the fund for public welfare.

The Minister and higher officials concerned should pay immediate attention, he demanded and gave strong instruction for proper construction of the building at the earliest possible.
