Imphal, April 27 2009: The relay hunger strike campaign launched with the demand to repeal the infamous Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act and to save the life of Irom Sharmila has completed 139 days today.

Today's leg of the relay hunger strike launched under the aegis of the Sharmila Kanba Lup was participated by Meira Paibis of Mana Ingkhol.

The parallel relay hunger strike launched at Thoubal for the same cause has completed 82 days.

As a part of the non-violent agitation, Meira Paibis of Charangpat Makha Leikai staged hunger strike today at Charangpat community hall.

At PDA complex Porompat, president of the Thoubal District United Women Development Organisation K Thasana and MIKHOL secretary M Nirmala delivered speeches in connection with the relay hunger strike.
