Imphal, January 25: GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen MS Dadwal, AVSM, VSM and GOC 57 Mountain Division Maj Gen TS Handa, SM have conveyed greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion Republic Day celebration and also send their earnest message of peace, harmony, unity and understanding on this joyous occasion, according to a statement issued by PIB (Defence Wing).

In another statement, PIB (Defence Wing) said that the youth of Thonglan Akutpa, a village along the IT Road in Senapati district expressed their happiness in traditional fashion by organising a cultural show during the inauguration of a playground on January 23 .

The army assisted the villagers in construction of the playground consisting of a football field and a volleyball ground which was finally inaugurated before the Republic Day on January 23.This was based on a long outstanding request by the local population, the statement said.
