Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee convenes meeting

Imphal, October 24 2011: Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee, Manipur convened a joint meeting of different Zeliangrong organisations regarding celebration of the festival and related matters at Chingmeirong Rongmei village yesterday.

The meeting resolved that the present Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee must continue to work in accordance with the rules and by-laws.

It also decided to increase the number of members of the existing committee.

The meeting resolved to nominate some members from different Zeliangrong bodies to negotiate with the persons who have imposed ban on the celebration of the festival at State level.

It also decided that TRC General Secretary Lairenjao would lead the team which consists of members from TRC, LUH Phom, Zeliangrong Women Society, ZECAM.

Representatives from Tingkao Ragwang Chupriak Phom, Zeliangrong Boudi (AMN), Zeliangrong Student Union, Zeliangrong Women Society, Manipur valley, Zeliangrong United Club Association, Manipur valley, Rongmei Luh Phom and All Zeliangrong Arts and Cultural Organisation attended the meeting, said a press release.
