MPP Yaiskul unit conducted a political convention at Yaiskul Puja Lampak today.
Speaking at the function, former Union Minister Th Chaoba said that a political revolution is the need of the hour to bring a change in the State.
Maintaining that MPP stands for Manipur only, Chaoba asserted that when the demand for statehood was intense in the State, Congress Party opined to demand for a Part C State only.
The MPP leader also said that it was MPP which brought RMC (now RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (now Manipur University) in the State.
Apart from it, MPP also instituted Public Service Commission, brought High Court and planned to develop Hicham Yaicham Pat, Chaoba added.
MLA Dr I Ibohanbi spoke on the vision of the party that mainly stressed on uninterrupted influx of non-Manipuris in the State.
The chief guest of the function and party president Dr L Chandramani spoke on regional parties in Indian politics and MPP's place.
MLA and senior party leader O Joy also spoke in the convention presided over by president of MPP Yaiskul unit, Wairokpam Kumar Chenglei.
