Imphal, September 08, 2009: The two Engineers of Manipur University's Engineering Cell, who were pulled up by the police on charges of colluding with the Lanheiba group of the banned KCP (MC), have been sent to jail today along with the State Government invoking the National Security Act.The duo, namely EE (electrical) Sanasam Brojen of Thongju Part-II and EE (Civil) Laimayum Meghachandra Sharma of Singjamei Thongam Leikai, were picked up by a team of Imphal East district police on September 5 along with Rs 2 lakh which police claim to have been collected for paying the banned organisation.

Apart detaining them further under the NSA today, the Court of Chief Judicial magistrate (Imphal) approved detention of both in judicial custody.
