Imphal, August 04 2009: A combined team of Thoubal Police Commandos and personnel of 34 Assam Rifles reportedly arrested one RPF cadre during frisking and checking of suspected persons at Phoudei village at around 6.30 pm on August 2, according to a delayed statement issued by the Senior SP of Thoubal District Clay Khongsai.

Identifying the arrested RPF cadre as Soraisam Bimol Singh alias Kalidas (26) s/o late S Tombi Singh of Cachar Luithal (Assam) but staying at Kangmong Meisnam Leikai, the SSP conveyed that on questioning, Bimol disclosed that he joined the outlawed organisation in 2003 through one Mahesh and got military training at Khongtal (Myanmar).

After training, he as transferred at Mizoram under the command of Mahesh who is in the finance section of the outfit.

In 2006, he was transferred to Manipur in division no.V under the command of one Thebo of Kangmong Kangjeibung and presenting staying at the latter's home at Kangmong Kangjeibung with one of his assistant identified as Tomba alias Kiran.

From the disclosure of Bimol, the house of Thebo was raided and apprehended him at around 12.30 am of August 3 .

On questioning, Thebo identified himself as Pebam Thebo Singh alias Maipak (30) s/o P Tomba Singh of Kangmong Kangjeibung and disclosed that he hot training in Burma in 1998 and presently working as S/S Asst commander of division no.V of the outfit under one Chingkhei, the SSP informed.

The SSP further informed that on August 2 , acting on specific information, a combined team of Thoubal District Police Commandos and personnel of 12 Maratha Light Infantry conducted search operation at Nambol Balaram Khul Maning Leikai and arrested one overground cadre of UNLF identified as Mutum Inaocha Singh (41) s/o M Shyamkishor Singh of Nambol Balaram Khul Maning Leikai.

On the other hand, Imphal East Police Commandos arrested one KCP cadre one Wangkhei Andro Parking at around 12.30 pm of August 2 and recovered one Chinese hand grenade from his possession.

Identifying the arrested KCP cadre as Khangembam Sanamacha Meitei alias Purel alias Tiger (19) s/o Kh Ibomcha Meitei of Samaram Mayai Leikai, SP of Imphal East District Th Radheshyam Singh, in a statement, informed that on verification, Sanamacha disclosed that he joined KCP in March 2006 through one Sunil of Thoubal and trained in the 16th batch of the same year under army no.372 .

Furthermore, Sanamacha disclosed that he was involved in an encounter between Assam Rifles and KCP cadres at Saibal in Chandel district apart from involving in extorting money from the general public, Govt officials and businessmen, etc.

In the same statement, the SP also conveyed the report of arresting one PREPAK cadre identified as Tayenjam Subash Singh (47) s/o T Jatra of Naoremthong Samushang Uku from Minuthong at around 11.45 am of August 1 .

On verification, Subash disclosed that he is a sympathiser of PREPAK, the SP informed.
