The inauguration function of a new Plus-2 level college, VK Tawna College was today held at Ex-Servicemen Building, Tiddim Road, Lamka.
The college was inaugurated by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur Secretary Kunjabihari Singh, as Chief Guest.
The college is being set up by V Siamnunlian in memory of his father V Khotintawn, who expired on June 20, 2000.The Chief Guest overwhelmed by the Governing Board's invitation said it is his first time ever in Churachandpur.
He also highlighted the various criteria for gaining recognition as a College in Manipur.
He lauded the determination and efforts that go into setting up the new educational institution, V Siamnunlian, who is also Secretary of the Governing Board, said that the College inaugurated today is a realization of his father's dream and urged all well wishers to contribute their mite to make it an institution that could serve the society's up-coming generation.
The new College will be functional from the session 2004-05.It will be upto the Class XII level and both Arts and Science streams will be opened.
