Later a book titled Meira Paibi produced by the All Manipur Women's Social Reformation and Development Samaj was released by its advisor Brojeshwari.
Moreover, simple gifts were presented to felicitate some Meira Paibis for their outstanding spirit and courage.
Many speakers addressing the gathering noted that the ongoing struggle of the Meira Paibis is the third women's war against the discriminatory rule of the Government of India in continuation to the historic two women's war against the British imperialists.
Saying that the Manipuri women have always been in the forefront in the struggle to protect the national rights of the State since historical periods, the speakers acknowledged that Manipuri women have taken bold steps on several counts against the suppressive rule of the Govts.
They remarked that Manipuri women are pride of the nation.
Yet they observed that it would not be right for Manipuri women to sit back in the face of atrocities committed in the State at the behest of the Union Government.
As such, the Meira Paibis ought to unite together to fight back the diabolic policies followed by the Union Govt in Manipur.
IPSA president Ibotombi Khuman, LEIMAKOL president MC Rita and social activist Joy Nongmaithem also spoke on the occasion.
