TNL in limbo, awaits its assembly decision

Ukhrul, August 20 2014: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) apex Tangkhul customary head office had put into withhold after the President TNL Artax A' Shimray tendered his resignation letter yesterday at forenoon to his Vice-President Reisang on the moral ground stating that his failure to address the public problem and issue on prevailing Ukhrul town situation.

The town after the assassination of ADC member M Ngalangzar, thereby raiding the WTR civil liaison office by police commando, clamped 144 CrPC and additional deployment of police commando and IRB had put Ukhrul town in an alarming and tense situation.

The public raising their voices through organizing various type of democratic agitation, demonstration demanding revocation and withdrawal of the arm forces from the Ukhrul town under the leadership of TNL along with other Tangkhul Civil organizations, yet the state government showed no sign of withdrawing or reviewing the decision.

The TNL president Artax A' Shimray who is yet to complete a year of his leadership is short of couple month tendered his official resignation to TNL office address to his VP, which he simply stated that his inability to lead the public and fulfill public aspiration as official reason.

While the town folk seemingly had confounded whether the reason is behind as such the Ukhrul town is chaotic situation.

Input from the reliable source revealed that the resignation letter will be officially forwarded to the TNL speaker, after which the TNL assembly will decide the resignation of TNL president on August 23, until then the TNL office persist on run by the TNL Vice president SD Reisang.
