The United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women Union Manipur (NWUM), All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) and Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (South Sector) (NPMHR) have expressed their deepest anguish over the brutal murder of Dr Th Kishan, SDO of Kasom Khullen Sub Division and two of his subordinate staff, Yumnam Token, and Aribam Rajen by unknown miscreants on February 17 near Taphou Kuki village after abducting them from Ukhrul district on February 13 .
UNC president Samson Remmei, NWUM president Grace Shatsang, ANSAM president A.David Choro and NPMHR-South sector convenor Sengul Phamhring while conveying their message through NNN said that the Naga frontal organisations strongly condemn such inhuman act of killing people, whatsoever the justification may be.
"We would like to emphasize that such senseless violence and bloodshed has bereaved and traumatized many families psychologically and physically and marred the peaceful co-existence of communities," they said.
The four Naga influential bodies then stated that in this moment of grief, the Naga people express "our deepest condolence to the families of the deceased," ading, "We share their grief and burden of being innocent victims of an inhuman act.
We put forth our sincerest and most earnest commitment that we will do our utmost within our disposal to bring those guilty to book and justice".
UNC, ANSAM, NWUM and ANSAM appeal to all in the 'spirit of oneness in this time of sorrow and grief' to uphold the ideals of peace and tolerance.
"At this juncture of chaos and confusion perpetrated by unidentified miscreants we urge the peace loving people of Manipur and other like-minded individuals and organizations to exercise utmost restrain and refrain from falling victims to the blame-game which will only fulfill the intentions of vested groups and anti-social elements that seeks to sow seeds of hatred and differences among communities.
We also urge all for collective and strongest efforts and endeavors to defeat and stop the commission of such heinous crimes and killings from our society," the Naga bodies said.
