As hectic preparations were underway to make the 62 Zomi Nam Ni celebration a grand one, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and many of his cabinet colleagues were set to grace the occasion at PT Sports complex here on Saturday.
An invitation of the organizer, Zomi Youth Association copies of which were handed over to the media today said the Chief Minister Ibobi, Outer Manipur MP Thangso Baite and Power Minister T Phungzathang will grace the occasion as Chief Guest, Functional President and the Nam Ni �Pa� (Father).
Other guest cited on the list includes, Education Minister L Jayantakumar, Works Minister K Ranjit, PHED Minister TN Haokip, Revenue Minister Th Debendra Singh, Health Minister Ph Parijat Singh, FCS Minister Y Erabot Singh, Agriculture Minister N Loken Singh, IFCD Minister N Biren, RD&PR Minister Md.Allauddin Khan, TD Minister DD Thaisii and the government�s chief whip T Mangibabu Singh.
Four other elected representatives of the district were branded as the Hosts, while N Lokeshwar, Bijoy Koijam, Thangminlien, Thangkholun, Doukhomang and some other elected representatives were given the courtesy of Special Guests.
The Nam Ni, projected as a cultural festival of the Zomis will witness a mass performance of �Jaangta Laam� from 56 cultural troupes from the Zomi tribes.
Other cultural troupes from YMA, HYA, KKL, Chiru and Aimol will also have a spcecial performance on the occasion.
Besides gospel choir from eleven local Churches will also thrill the crowd.
Mualnuam village in Thanlon sub-division will also celebrate the Nam Ni at the village playground with a grand feast.
Mizoram�s FCS Minister Rolhuna will be the Chief Guest at the celebration and eleven mammals including Mithuns will be slaughtered on the day.
