Imphal, April 09 2011: Giving clean chit to UKLF, chiefs of Y Thingkangphai, LT Phai and K Pheisabi villages have clarified that there is no question of the outfit, a signatory of Suspension of Operation, indulging in criminal activities on the night of April 1 and 3 at Thingkangphai area of Sugnu.

Speaking at Molnoi in Pallel today afternoon, chief of Y Thingkangphai village Hemjalun Haokip, chief of LT Phai village Tongmang Haokip and chief of K Pheisabi village Jilngam Baite clarified that they neither have knowledge as to who submitted the memorandum to the Chief Minister on April 5 which was subsequently published in newspapers alleging criminal activities against UKLF nor had they ever appended their signatures in the said memorandum.

The village chiefs asserted that if at all any crime have been committed by UKLF in Thingkangphai area, they would have discussed the matter and tried to bring about a solution with the outfit.

As no crime had been committed, there was no such talks, the village chief said, while appealing to all concerned to find out who have signed and submitted the memorandum.
