Imphal, January 10 2009: With members of different civil organisations and Meira Paibi groups participating in the relay hunger strike launched since December 10, the demonstration being staged under the aegis of the Sharmila Kanba Lup demanding to save the life of Sharmila goes on.

Today's leg of the relay hunger strike was participated by members of the Langthabal Kunja Mayai Leikai Meira Paibi Nupi Lup, Heibongpokpi Nupi Samaj Association, Kangchup Village Chiru Women Meira Paibi Lup, Sayang Kurao Makhong Meira Paibi, Lamdeng Mayai Leikai Meira Paibi, All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Apunba Meira Paibi Lup etc.

Secretary of Jiri Development Organisation Th Brojen and MAPI Council secretary Bimol spoke at the protest venue at Porompat Planning and Development Agency on the issue of the repressive AFSPA and the mass movement against the military Act.
