Imphal, August 08 2009:
The Manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF) has exhorted the youths to stand united and carry on the ongoing movement until the people's collective goal is achieved.
It also appealed to the local people of the commandos involved in the July 23 killing to award social punishment so that such excesses do not repeat.
Asserted that more than 2000 Manipuris have been killed by security forces in fake encounters since the SPF came to power, MAFYF said that it would be the most befitting response to give O Ibobi forced retirement from electoral politics.
Emphasising the need to abolish Rapid Action Police Force (RAPF) or Manipur police commandos permanently, MAFYF called for social boycott of all police commandos if their excessive action to subdue the ongoing people's movement continues.
It suggested school authorities to issue transfer certificates to all children of commandos and to prevent them admission in any school.
MAFYF also called upon the people to launch civil disobedience movement against police commandos.
It announced first-phase assistance of Rs 5000 to Prakash who is undergoing treatment at hospital after sustaining critical injuries during the people's movement.
MAFYF also assured first-phase assistance of Rs 1000 each to all those injured in the course of the movement.
In case any one becomes disabled due to injuries, MAFYF would provide Rs 2000 every month for five years, added the MAFYF release.
