Hundreds of mourners participated in a candle light vigil at Jantar Mantar here today decrying the brutal murder of Kasom Khullen SDO Dr Thingnam Kishan and two of his staff members, Drivr Aribam Raken and Revenue Mandal Yumnam Token after being abductd by armed cadres of NSCN (IM) and demanding punishment of the murderers.

Pepresentatives of various organisations and individuals from all walks of life including students participated in the demonstration crying for justice.
After the candle vigil, a memorandum was submitted to the President of India with the copy of the same forwarded to the Prime Minister highlighting various demands.
The demands include initiating criminal proceeding against the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul district for his alleged involvment in the triple murder, to punish the murdurers and to ensure that the culprits who are currently in the custody of the NSCN (IM) be brought under due process of law to take its own course.
Furthermore, the memorandum demanded the Govt of India to clarify whether the ceasefire ground rules agreed between the Govt of India and the NSCN (IM) cover shielding off of criminals committing such hei nous crimes as well as on the legality of the presence of designated camps of the Naga rebel group in Manipur.
'We are afraid that ineffective action on the part of the Govt of India would cripple the future functioning of civil administration in Manipur', the memorandum concluded, while anticipating immediate actions in the interest of justice.
