PSYC emerge champions of DSA Kak 3rd Div League

Imphal, November 27 2018: PSYC, Phunal claimed the title of the 3rd Division Football League Tournament organised by District Sports Association Kakching at its playground with 13 points from 4 wins and 1 draw at the tournament.

Sugnu Football Club (SFC) finished runners up with 10 points from 3 wins and 1 draw while YWU sealed the third place with 9 points.

In the last match of the tournament staged today, SFC had a dominating 4-1 win over FSC, Kakching to secure runners up title at the championship.

Though both teams were evenly poised in the earlier proceedings, SFC ran riot in the second half as FSC showed little resistance, to notch up the huge win.

Ngamgoulin Mate shone in the match scoring two goals for SFC while T Henry Zou and Haominlun netted one goal each.

Ngamgoulin opened up the scoring in the 12th minute but M Marjit of FSC came up with the equaliser during the additional time (40+1) to go into the break with the 1-1 scoreline.

T Henry Zou then led the SFC attack in the second half and broke the deadlock in the 45th minute before Ngamgoulin Mate rose for his second and extended the lead to 3-1 the very next minute.

SFC continued to press the lowly FSC, Kakching despite the huge lead and it was in the 66th minute that Haominlun drove home the last nail and helped SFC cruise to 4-1 win for second place finish.

The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by Elangbam Ongbi Shanti Leima, Pradhan, Keirak Gram Panchayat as chief guest; Salam Sanatomba, president, All Manipur Football Association as functional president and L Jyotirmoy Roy, assistant general secretary, All Manipur Football Association as guest of honour who also feted the teams and outstanding players.

M Zidane of YWU was adjudged best goalkeeper of the tournament during the closing ceremony.
