Ibudhou Thangjing, Khurai polo club enter SFs

Imphal, November 06 2014: Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club, Khurai Polo Club sealed their berths for the semifinal round of the 5th 57 Mountain Division Polo Tournament 2014 to held at Imphal Pologround (Mapal Kangjeibung) today.

In the first quarter final match, Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club crushed Tekcham Polo Club by 8-2 goals.

The first chukker was all about M Manihar.

He gave Ibudhou Thangjing 2-0 lead over Tekcham by his two quick goals in the 5.01 and 5.16 minute of the chukker.

The Second chukker was also a goal drought chukker for Tekcham where A Basanta scored a goal in favour of Ibudhou Thangjing.

In the third chukker Ibudhou Thangjing made the tally 6-0 against Tekcham through M Manihar's one and S Sadananda's two goals.

Ibudhou Thangjing did not stop their scoring in the fourth chukker also.

They added another two goals to their hefty score through O Sanajit and M Dolen but S Ranjit reduced the score margin by scoring two goals but it was too late for Tekcham Polo Club.

Khurai Polo Club rode on P Jotin's four goals to register 11-3 win over Chingkheihunba Polo Club in the second quarterfinal of the tournament.

The Kaoba was the only scorer of the Chingkheihunba Polo Club.

He scored one goal each in the first, second and third chukker.

For Khurai Polo Club, P Ojit opened the scoring by his double strikes in the first chukker.

P Jotin, L Thansan and P Ojit scored one goal each in the second chukker.

P Jotin and L Thansan also added one goal each in the third chukker to mount up their score to seven.

Khurai Polo Club scored altogether four goal in the last chukker.

L Thomson contributed two goal while P Ojit and P Jotin added one goal each.

Thus they could book a semifinal berth of the tournament.
