TSE names the winners of Lemon and MM World ICC World Cup, 2011

The results are here and so are the winners.
It took both cricketing acumen and a dose of good luck for the ten contestants who took part in the Lemon ICC Cricket World Cup and MM World ICC Cricket World cup 2011 to emerge winners.
The contest was a joint effort of the two retail outlets for mobile handsets and the The Sangai Express, especially the advertisement section.
The response was overwhelming and a few hand picked staff of the newspaper had to go through all the entries, numbering in thousands to identify the contestants who got one answer right from the five questions asked in the Lemon section and MM World section respectively.
There were many who got it right and the winner had to be ultimately decided by the draw of lots which was held at the premise of The Sangai Express this morning, in the presence of some personalities, as jury members, who have identified themselves with sports.
The winner of the first question asked in the Lemon ICC Cricket World Cup is W Wangthoi of Sagolband Sayang Road, Konthoujam Leikai, the winner of the second question is J Ganta, 1st floor BSNL Bhavan, the winner of the third question is L Shyamjai Singh of Heirok Part II, Mayai Leikai, the winner of the fourth question is Khamnam Kennedy of Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Karkhong while the fifth and last question in the Lemon section, "Who will be the best fielder/catcher ?" had to be rendered invalid.
In the MM World ICC World Cup Cricket, it was the same script, the winners selected by a draw of the lots.
The winner of the first question is Chandralekha Devi, of Waithou Bazar, Lilong PS, the winner of the second question is Khomdram Devendro Singh of Heirangoithong Awang Maibam Leikai, the winner of the third question is W Sushil Singh of Singjamei Chingamathak, the winner of the fourth question is Ph Sushmita Sharma of Malom Tuliayaima while the winner of the last and fifth question in this section is Padma of Saingjamei Makha Khongangpheidekpi.
All the winners are hereby asked to collect their awards from the office of The Sangai Express on April 5 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm after furnishing the required identity documents.
The jury members who graced the draw of lots today included personalities like L Manglem, Secretary of MOA, P Nilakamal, the first Olympian from Manipur, Dr Ak Joy, Sports Medicine Expert, M Biramangol, Secretary Manipur Cricket Association, Sachin Sapam, General Manager of The Sangai Express and Rajesh Hijam Editor of the English edition of The Sangai Express.
The winners were picked from the box by the participants who had turned up for the draw of lot.
