Imphal, March 30 2009:
Maintaining that capturing of photos for the preparation of photo electoral rolls had been done only for 1/4th of the total voters in Ukhrul district, Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long urged the concerned authorities to make an arrangement to let to exercise the franchise for the left out voters in the coming Lok sabha polls as it was practised in past elections.
The body said that it was tough for the voters of farflung areas to come to district headquarters for capturing of photos.
The body also warned that it would be compelled to take up democratic agitation with the help of like-minded NGOs if the Government fails to take up necessary action in this regard.
