Imphal, April 07:
Cracking whip against misuse of unfair means in the college election, AMSU, MSF and DESAM have asked a pre-sidential candidature of the LMS Law College to surrender and have given strong warning in this connection.
Addressing a press conference at AMSU headquarters this afternoon, representative of the student bodies informed that one Okram Somorjit, a student in the LLB First Year Group-C took the help of a person who is not a student of the college as his proposer for his candidature.
The matter came to light during the scrutiny yesterday, they said.
The alleged proposer identified as Sagolshem Romeo s/o Lokendro of Kakwa Makha Nameirakpam Leikai has been rounded up by the Election Information Task Force and paraded in front of media-persons during the press conference.
Somorjit would be disqualified from the election and all the attempts to meet him has remained futile, the student leaders said, while asking Somorjit to surrender at the earliest possible.
The incident of Somorjit should be the first and the last, and there would not be any forgiveness on this account, they warned.
The student leaders further informed that use of four-wheelers for presidential election of the college would be allowed from today and the restriction would remains in case of candidates of college representatives until an approval has been given from the side of the three student bodies.
Each of the four-wheelers to be used by the presidential candidates should be only for the purpose of going for worshipping gods and not for other purposes like picking up voters and canvassing, they clarified.
It has also come to the knowledge that some people are rendering the services of their vehicles in connection with the election, the student leaders said, while giving stern warning against such people who violate the already laid down rules and regulations.
