Imphal, September 01 2011:
Reacting to a report published in this paper, Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) has clarified that it did not meet the Chief Minister nor send any of its representative for the purpose on the evening of August 31 .
The report was published on the basis of an input provided by a Cabinet Minister.
The report had also stated that the general secretary of SHDDC, Tonghen Kipgen did not attend the meeting with the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister as well as the newspaper owe a clarification to the people of Sadar hills, general secretary of SHDDC Tonghen Kipgen said in a statement.
It is highly regrettable that the Government is once again trying to mislead the people with false propaganda and statements instead of listening to the demand of the Sadar Hills people.
SHDDC is always clear in its stand towards fulfilment of the demand for upgradation of Sadar Hills to a full-fledged district, Tonghen Kipgen said.
