Imphal, June 30 2011:
The 8th foundation day of Kangla Food Products was celebrated at its Phoijing Makha, Nambol Chingmang factory premises along with presentation of gifts to its agents and best sellers.
Delivering the key note address of the celebration, managing director of Kangla Food Products A Birendra recalled that the Kangla Food Products was set up for the first time on June 30, 2004 with the main objective of popularising food items manufactured in Manipur among its own people.
At that time, there were only
four workers.
Today, the food manufacturing unit has completed 8 years.
However, running Kangla Food Products has not been an easy job.
Apart from frequent imposition of bandh and blockade that affect the price of the raw materials brought from outside and the inability to meet the growing demand on account of shortage of raw materials, some UG groups too have given undue interference in the operation of Kangla Food Products.
In spite of all these difficulties, Kangla Food Products has been trying to capture the market of North East.
Efforts are already underway to open an outlet of Kangla Food Products at Guwahati.
There are also market demand for food items manufactured by Kangla Food Products in Dimapur and Silchar, he informed the gathering, and added that there is a lot that could be done but for the undue interference from some quarters that sometimes discourage entrepreneurial spirit.
SP of Bishnupur district Th Radheshyam, who attended the function as chief guest, pointed out that most of the goods required in Manipur are brought in from outside.
So, for any production units set up in Manipur to capture the market, the product should be good enough to encourage the people to go for it instead of any other products available in the market.
The police officer further observed that for a good cause, one should not be intimidated any anyone.
The president of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) A Mobi, who was one of the guests of honour of the function, categorically stated that while fighting for liberation, economy of the State and its people need to be made secure first of all.
Otherwise, the day after the independence was granted, there would be miseries all around.
Moreover, no liberation movement would be successful without the support and co-operation of the people.
So, the public should not be given undue harassment.
Instead of giving undue interference in the operation of Kangla Food Products, every one should help in promotion of this production unit which has been providing employment to many people.
Editor of ISTV Y Rupachandra was also present as one of the guests of honour of the function presided over by Retired Zonal Education Officer Ng Nobo.
At the occasion, gifts were presented to the agents and best sellers of the Kangla Food Products.
