Manipur has its day at IITF

Cultural extravaganzas enthralled the audience at the IITF 2011 Manipur day , today evening in New Delhi.
Speaking as Chief Guest MLA Bijoy Koijam informed the audience on Manipur's rich cultural heritage, the State's achievements in National and international arena, particularly in sports.
Though Manipur has been in the news for the prolonged economic blockade, there are other bright spots, said the MLA and added that situation is improving.
The occasion was attended by O Nabakishore Singh Principal Secretary, Commerce and Industries , O Joykumar and Ksh Shantakumar Singh.
Cultural troupes presented cultural dance , Thangta and traditional fashion show.

Before the function Bijoy Koijam visited the stalls at the Pavillion and interacted with the participants .
Speaking to The Sangai Express the MLA said that ever since the beginning November 14, the participants in the trade fair have sold out about 70 pc of their items.
He said that participation in such an event like International trade fair is not only for business but for exposure of Manipur's potential in production, culture and arts.
This will encourage future participants from Manipur, said the MLA.
Koijam further said that Manipur require more products that can be exported.
On the several hindrances and drawbacks in production and further marketing, the MLA said " the Government can initiate subsidy and loans to upcoming small enterprisers , who are dedicated and serious" He emphasised the need to put more effort to look into the Jiribam Imphal road, which according to him is an option which would greatly help the State.
