At least six more malaria patients from C Munpi village were brought to the district Hqs here even as the District Malaria officer claimed that all was under control.
Just a day after the officer declared that everything was under control to this correspondent on Thursday last, two children identified as Kamneilhing, 13 d/o Thanglal and Lhingneilam, 13 d/o Letkholal, both residents of C Munpi tested positive.
On Saturday two more patients; Ningchin, 61 and Mangcha, 14 tested positive while Seijang, 60 and Lienkhothang, 23 again tested positive on Sunday.
It is worth mentioning that all the patients were from C Munpi village where two sets of medical team have claimed that they sanitised the area to protect it from the spread of malaria.
Meanwhile, another alarming report has started to haunt the district as the village chief of Phaipijang, about 2 kms trek from C Munpi in Henglep Sub-division has approached the medical authorities here today with the names of at least 15 persons ailing villagers aged between 60 to 28, who according sources were highly suspected to be malaria cases.
Eight patients along with the newly identified were presently hospitalized at the District Hospital while 38 were still encamped within the Relief Camp instituted by KSO & KKL at KKL complex here.
