HERICOUN celebrates foundation day

Imphal, May 16 2011:
Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) Manipur celebrated its 9th foundation day at Rupmahal theatre today.
The final round of the second Khangminnashi Quiz contest was also conducted as a part of the celebration.
Leishang Khoma team of Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Konok Thengra team of Fancier Abhiram Higher Secondary School and Salang Maiba team of Nambol Higher Secondary School bagged first, second and third prizes respectively.
The contest was based on the history, geography, literature, culture and games and sports of Manipur.
State Commission of Other Backward Classes Member O Biren Singh, HERICOUN president Rev Renghang Chothe and Assam Meitei Apunba Lup president W Sarat were the chief guest, president and guest of honour of the function respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Rev Renghang Chothe stressed on the need to understand not only Imphal city but also the districts and villages of the State.
Rev Renghang Chothe also indicated to start the 'One village, One report; One town, one report project', which was suspended due to financial constraint.
Rev Renghang also exhorted to bring harmony among all the communities of the State.
