Shumang Leela camp to be held

Manipur State Shumang Leela Council (MSSLC) in collaboration with Theatre Mirror will be organising a 30 day training programme under the theme 'Shumang Leela Tradition' from June 17 to July 17 at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
Speaking to media persons at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen today, the project director of the programme, Wareppa Naba said that the training programme would be conducted from 6 am to 11 am everyday for the aforementioned duration of the programme.
He pointed out many renowned individuals in the field of acting, direction, Pung, music, dance, Thang-Ta etc will impart training during the training programme.
Naba said that training on Moirang Parba, an endangered artform, would also be included in the programme.
Stressing the importance of taking part in the Moirang Parba training, he further explained that CHITUWA, a women organisation is planning to organise a Moirang Parba exclusive festival from July 20 to 25 .
Naba stated that interested individuals can join the training programme by paying a Rs 300 admission fee along with two passport sized photographs to MSSLC.

MSSLC lifetime president Ph Gunachandra will be the chief consultant of the training programme, the council's lifetime secretary Sougrakpam Hemanta will be the camp director and president Purnimashi Leima and treasurer Premita will handle the training programme, auditorium etc, he said.
Various eminent personalities including MSSLC lifetime member and NS Dian Kshetri Jugindro will take part in the event.
Wareppa Naba pointed out that the training section for Moirang Parba is not training in the true sense but rather a discussion programme with those who have witnessed or learned the art form.
