The All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA) is prepared fully for the mass cycle rally scheduled from June 21 to 26 under the theme "Drugs are not child's play" as adopted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC).
Briefing media persons today, AMADA vice-president L Krishnamohon Mangang said that altogether 650 people including 350 AMADA volunteers, medical staff and media persons will take part in the cycle rally.
The rallyists will propagate messages such as "Let's fight against drugs", "Let's groom competent future generations" etc, he conveyed.
Informing that a 12 member Observation Committee of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking has been constituted with AMADA president L Tomba Meetei as chairman, Krishnamohon said that donation drives for the mass rally will be done through Finance convenor LC Naoton.
The six day long rally will be set off from Kangla and terminate at Hatta Kangjeibung.
All along the route of the rally, street corner meetings and street plays will be staged at different points.
As the rallyists will be holding nights at different places, he appealed for cooperation and encouragement from the local people where the rallyists happen to hold night.
Youths interested to take part in the rally may contact AMADA head office, its district councils, locals councils and units, he added.
