Imphal, April 30:
Although the development work of Pallel-Chandel road was stalled for some time because of various reasons including non-payment of bills to the contractors, the Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) has urged all the contractors/sub-contractors concerned to complete the remaining portion of the road development expeditiously before the onset of monsoon season as the pending bills have also been cleared, said CNPO in a press release.
Demanding that due quality should be maintained while executing the road development work, the CNPO further asked the engineers and officials concerned to keep a vigil to this end.
It also appealed to all groups and individuals to desist from causing any harassment and hindrance, which may be detrimental to the progress and completion of the work, to officials, contractors and labourers overseeing or engaged in the road development work.
On the other hand, conveying deep concern over the incident of Wungram colony, Dimapur, the CNPO has strongly condemned the act of violence.
Appealing to all sections of Naga society to remain calm and maintain communal harmony, it asked all concerned tribe hohos, church leaders and civil societies to help defuse the tension and bring a peaceful solution.
