Imphal, October 25 2009:
Association of Premier State College Seniors, Manipur (APSCS) has urged all the representatives/MLAs to show readiness to deliberate upon the ongoing crisis by convening a special session of the assembly.
A statement issued by the general secretary of the APSCS, Dr AK Chishti observed that the reluctance in summoning the special assembly session to sort out the ongoing crisis in connection with the Khwairamband incident results in intensified tension.
Mounting pressure to convene the special assembly session, the APSCS statement also reminded the 60 MLAs that the time has come to act before it is too late.
It asserted that the situation has demanded the government to adopt a people-friendly approach rather than act of suppression.
It further pressurised the Governor to convene a special assembly session to discuss the ongoing crisis.
