UNLF accuses AR of killing Myanmarese

Imphal, April 03 2013: Accusing 44 AR personnel posted at Kasung Post in Kasom-Khullen area of killing an innocent villager of Phayang in Myanmar after torturing, the proscribed UNLF has called upon the ethnic brethren as well as neighbouring nations, especially Myanmar to condemn India's excesses against indigenous people.

The victim has been identified as Zaw Myo (38) s/o Thaing Lwin of Phayang village.

A statement issued by the Senior Publicity Officer of the UNLF, Ksh Yoiheiba contended that the security forces are killing innocent villagers to snap age-old fraternal relations between Manipur and Myanmar.

The UNLF statement pointed out that yesterday, at around 6.30 pm, 44 AR of Kasung Post operating in Kasom-Khulen area captured 2 innocent Kuki villagers from Phayang village from across the border, who came to sell meat to Namli, Kasom Khullen and were subjected to inhumane torture.

One of the villagers was shot dead but the other escaped.

Asserting that it was another stark example of security forces' attempt to snap the age-old relations between villagers on both sides of the border, the statement recalled a sabotage operation carried out by the security forces and destroyed a bridge in Myanmar in February and tried unsuccessfully to pass the buck to the UNLF.

It is an open secret that the security forces is resorting to hideous covert methods to subdue the resilient freedom struggle of Manipuri people.

Armed with AFSPA and given a free rein, the ruthless SFs is keeping the people of Manipur cowered down in fear psychosis with countless fake encounters, extrajudicial killings, rapes and so many heinous crimes against the people, it asserted.

"These criminal activities and devilish scheme of the SF is exposed time and again in the media.

But the innocent villagers of the interior area and inhabitants along the Manipur-Myanmar border area are subjected to torture and tyranny all the time and there seems to be no saviour at all," it stated.

Maintaining that the killings and tyranny of the SF has extended beyond the border this time, the statement called upon all ethnic brethren �Nagas, Kukis, Meiteis, that it is the time to condemn the real hideous facet of the SF and not to be wooed by their treachery.
