Imphal, August 30 2011:
The state cabinet today approved Rs.2 lakh ex gratia to the four victims of the terror attack at Sangakpham and ' 1 lakh each to the injured and ' 30,000 for those who suffered minor injuries.
The cabinet has also approved to provide an ex gratia payment of Rs.1 lakh to the driver who died after blockade supporters bludgeoned him with a stone and a grade IV job to one of his family members.
The cabinet has also approved to initiate Support to State Extension Programme for Extension Reforms under the Agriculture Department in all the districts of the state.
The programme is a joint venture of the Centre and state government in which Centre will bear 90 % of the total cost while the remaining 10 % will be borne by the state government.
In order to implement the scheme successfully, the government will engage 109 employees on contract basis out of which 42 will be deputed from the Agri Department.
