"Situation Analysis of Children in Government School", a report on conditions of children studying in government schools compiled by the Manipur Alliance for Children Rights published today at a function held at Nirmala Hotel today.
The report was based on findings during inspections to 50 government schools in Imphal east district.
A Sureshkumar briefed the report to the media with a power point presentation.
In the report it was stated that in the co-education government schools in Imphal east districts there were no proper toilet, if so, they were not maintained properly and not repair well causing problems to the students.
Local residences also use school campus in performing local public function which led to the closure of the school frequently.
These explained with slide show during the power point presentation and commented that it become a factor of dying of government schools.
The power point also showed the locals helping in maintaining infrastructures of the school also found at some instances suggesting that locals involvement is must for successful running government schools.
Montu Ahanthen speaking to the media persons the alliance has been founded with the objective of fighting the challenges and problems ahead of the children of the state in 2008. The body when tried to bring up the big issues of the children at the national level.
Many section of the society also could no see the problems facing by the children beyond child trafficking and child labour.
The function was also attended by chairman of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur Dr Sorkhaibam Chaoba as chief guest while former principal of the DM College of Teachers Education Dr S Gyaneshwor.
