The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur said mass use of unfair means have been detected in the HSSLC exam commenced from today when its volunteers moved round in four valley and one hill districts.
It will be better to promote all the students by the authority instead of conducting such kind of exam, the DESAM lamented.
Briefing to media persons today at a press conference held at its office at Keishampat, DESAM's general secretary M Angamba said teams of five member volunteers of DESAM today paid visits to 33 exam centres in four district and Damdei Christian College, Kanglatongbi and Presidency College at Motbung.
During the visits, exam was found conducting only for the name sake without any norms of being exam was found at Damdei Christian College and Presidency College.
Text books were found piling up at door of rooms where invigilators allowed students to copy from the books without any restrictions.
Using unfair means in the exam was seems to be stopped since DESAM conducted campaign since 2002 but it seems increasing again this year, the general secretary observed expressing concern over the bad habit.
Education secretary of the students body, P Premchandra said when the volunteers went round in the exam centres in Imphal west district, except two students at Ibotonsana centre, other found using unfair means.
Students using unfair means in the exam were also found in other centre, he added DESAM has decided not to take action against those invigilators who allowed students using unfair means for today but the students body will take up stunt action against them will be taken if found next time, he warned.
