Suspect teenage in 4-yr boy murder sent to juvenile home

A teenage youth who was among five persons arrested by the police as suspects in the murder of a 4-year-old boy in Ningthoukhong has been sent to the juvenile home at Takyelpat even as Ningthou-khong observed a shutdown demanding booking of the culprit(s) today.
Police have arrested five persons including the teenage boy during its course of investigation into the murder of the Thiyam Tomba alias Roberoy of Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou.
The dead body of Roberoy was found hanged behind a temple in the locality around 1 pm on May 18 .
Police produced the five suspects in the court of Bishnupur CJM yesterday and took remand to four of them for 15 days for further interrogation to find a clue to the murder case while the teenage boy has been sent to the juvenile home, a police source said today.
Shops and business establishments in Ningthoukhong bazar and its surrounding areas remained closed from 11 am to 5 pm today showing solidarity to the demand of the JAC formed in connection with the murder of the boy.
A public meeting was also held and resolved to call a 48-hour statewide bandh if the police fails to book the culprit(s) involved in the merciless murder of the boy on or before June 5, and a bandh will be enforced from 5 am on June 6.Any untoward incidents will be the responsibility of the authorities.
Representatives of the All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO), United Committee Manipur (UCM), NIPCO, HERICOUN, UPF, Bishnupur United Clubs Organisation and members of the local clubs in Bishnupur district participated in the meeting.
