773 goods trucks reach Imphal

Imphal, October 25 2011:
As the 72 hours total bandh initiated by the All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) ended last night, the 773 goods laden trucks which were stranded in Awang Khul reached here in Imphal today.
The goods laden trucks reaching Imphal today include 22 diesel tankers, 6 petrol tankers, 10 kerosene tankers, one NRL tanker, 1 LPG bullet, 2 passenger busses, 2 Tata Sumo and 727 various goods laden trucks.
The other trucks which are still stranded at Irang will be proceeding to Imphal tomorrow along with other 200 trucks from Jiribam with tight security arrangements.
Altogether 500 goods laden trucks will be arriving in Imphal tomorrow.
The trucks include 12 LPG Bullet, 12 LPG cylinder trucks and other diesel and petrol trucks.
Meanwhile, the 407 truck which was pushed down the Irang River near Noney and another rice loaded truck which was pushed down the gorge by bandh supporters have been lifted up by a team of Transporters and Drivers Council led by its President H Ranjit.
