The Hind Swaraj Peace March launched in solidarity to Irom Chanu Sharmila's 10 year old campaign against the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act has wound up at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
Earlier, the march launched from Cherthala, Kerala, home constituency of Defence Minister AK Antony was planned to wind up at Imphal.
During the course of the peace march, a play titled Meira Paibi was staged at different places.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, script writer of Meira Paibi play Sibik Chandran remarked that the indifference of the Government of India and Manipur Government towards Sharmila's unsurpassed democratic campaign is disappointing for all peace loving people of the world.
The march launched since May 8 could not proceed to Imphal because of the blockade and the prevailing situation.
But the plan was to conclude the march at Imphal in presence of Irom Sharmila on May 17.As such, the march was wound up at Itanagar, Chandran said.
