Wangkhem AC MLA K Meghachandra today inaugurated a wooden bridge built over the Thoubal river at Thoubal Kaokha Maning.
The bridge was financed by the MLA before the 9th Assembly election and was built with the active participation of the local people.
Addressing the people at the occasion, Meghachandra promised that he would take up a number of developmental in the area and noted that the AC has been neglected for long.
Earlier, the MLA was accorded a warm reception at the Chaobok Kabui Village.
Addressing the people, Meghachandra expressed regret that the people of the village have not received the facilities available to them through the Tribal Development Department.
The MLA assured that he would try to ensure that facilities such as schemes reach the people of the village.
Efforts are on to make Chaobok Kabui village a model village, said Meghachandra and added that plans are on to built a multi-purpose community hall, to instal solar lamps, hand pumps facilities and lay ground.
Meghachandra also distributed exercise books, sintex tank, red blankets and sports material to the villagers.
