Four members of the task force of the Assam State centre including its chairman AK Mitra have participated in the meeting.
The meeting deliberately discussed the benefits, the opportunities of the institution in case it is set up in the state.
AK Mitra said, the amount spent on sending students of the state to outside to pursue engineering courses will be saved if an institution is set up in the state.
But firstly, a land for the setting up of the institution has to be there and it should have more than 100 members.
Saying that an institution is there in Assam, Mitra added that Manipur also needs the institution.
