Health Minister Ph Parijat has said that possible measures have been taken to check the presence and spread of Swine Flu in the state after a case of Swine Flu has been reported in the state.
Talking to reporters today at his office located at the Old Secretariat, Parijat said a committee to contain the flu has been formed by the state health department.
He said a two-member team of the Health department will be sent outside the state to study and assess how other states have been tackling the menace.
Parijat said a control has also been opened at the Medical Directorate office in order that those suspected patients may report.
The control Room can also be contacted through telephone No 2411664 and 2416922.He said the Control Room will be opened from 7am to 6pm daily.
He said sensitization meeting was also held with security forces deployed at the Airport and the Committee set up by the Health department on June 25.On August 7and 8, a meeting was also held at Moreh Gate No 2.A medical Surveillance team has also been placed at the Airport where passengers coming from other countries have been asked to report.
Parijat said Rapid Response Team (RRT) has been placed at various places in the state.
Medicines for the tackling of the flu have also been stockpiled.
Two beds were also reserved at JN Hospital while 8 beds were reserved at RIMS hospital for isolated treatment of Swine Flu patients.
The Health Minister also said that the person who tested positive for Swine Flu has been discharged.
Other than that sportsperson who tested positive for Swine Flu, there has been no other patient who tested positive.
The State Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department has already imposed a ban on importing pigs from Myanmar.
State authorities have also taken up necessary measures at every entry point like Moreh border town, Mao and Jiribam to properly monitor the situation.
