A tripartite agreement among the Government of India, the Manipur based militant group KCP (Lanlumba group) and the government of Manipur signed a kind of memorandum of understanding for the enmasse surrendering of the KCP-MC-Lanlumba group in Imphal today.
The enmasse surrendering of the militant cadres of the outfit will take place once the verification and listing of the cadres are over, according to reports received.
Home secretary, North East in-charge Naveen Verma represented the government of India, Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) LM Khaute and Special Home Secretary of the government of Manipur A.K Singha represented the state government while KCP-MC (Lanlumba) was represented by its chairman and the outfit's 'home secretary' during the signing of agreement programme today which took place at First Manipur Rifles complex in Imphal.
Reports said that Manipur chief secretary DS Poonia, Manipur DGP Y Joykumar, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (south) C.A Khrishna and a couple of officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) were also paticipated in the programme.
