Training programme 'Writing Research papers'

A one-day training programme on 'Writing Research papers' was organised jointly by CSIR North East institute of Science and Technology, and Manipur Science and Technology Council at the former's Lamphelpat NEIST sub-station.
The programme was held with Manipur University Vice Chancellor Prof H Nandakumar Sharma and Chief Scientist, CSIR NEIST, Jorhat Dr G Unni as the chief guest and president respectively.
MU's Life Science Head of Department Prof G Chhetry and Prof B Manihar Sharma were the guests of honour.
Describing increasing number of research scholars in the State as a positive development, Prof Nandakumar exuded confidence that the research scholars would have tremendous impact on the over-all development of the country.
Advising research scholars to ensure that precision about the subject they are pursuing should not be compromised, the Vice Chancellor also maintained that recording and minute observation are essential components of research works.
He further pointed out that research works should be published in newspapers or magazines for public knowledge.
During the technical session, MU Chemistry Department's Prof N Rajmuhon deliberated on 'writing scientific papers', Chief Scientist Dr BG Unni on 'How to write a good research paper' and Principal Scientist CSIR NEIST Dr H Birkumar on 'Proper Planning for writing a research paper' .
Apart from a panel discussion and interaction programme, distribution of certificates to the participants was another highlight of the event.
