The Joint Action Committee on Recruitment of Primary Teachers 2009 under Autonomous District Council, Chandel has demanded immediate removal/relocation of the Chandel Autonomous District CEO S Wurngam Anal.
A press release issued by the JAC accused the CEO of indulging in various fraudulent practices and violation of established rules and regulations.
It alleged that his certificate of the Board of Secondary Education Assam bearing roll number 4667 of 1970, he furnished at the time of joining his job was a forged one.
During his tenure, CEO Wurngam affected appointment of 170 primary teachers against the vacant post of just 44.He was also instrumental in the appointment of 202 teachers which was in excess of the actual required number of teachers.
In collusion with some officials under ADC Chandel, he made special arrangement to accommodate 170 candidates (falling between Roll Nos 1-200) at St Joseph's School in total violation of the recruitment rules of the State Government, the JAC alleged.
It further asserted that the invigilators allotted to these candidates were not included in the list of invigilators prepared by the administration.
The JAC also condemned the alleged assault on its volunteers by personnel of 26 Sector Assam Rifles.
It said that the indefinite chakka bandh is still in force in the whole district of Chandel.
