Imphal, September 24:
eacting to news item carried by section of the State dailies, IPR Minister gaikhangam has clarified that there is no dissension among members of the CLP and SPF legislature party and all are working unitedly.
Since there is no dissension among the members of the CLP the question of the alleged efforts to calm MLAs does not arise at all, said the Minister in a statement released to the press from New Delhi today evening.
Brushing aside allegations of power struggle amongst the CLP members, he maintained that such baseless charge is an attempt to malign the prestige and dignity of the elected public leaders and also to create misunderstanding among the elected leaders.
On his recent visit to Delhi, gaikhangam said it was purely personal and family affairs and has no connection to the allegation.
"The publication of such an imaginary, unfounded and cooked-up story at such a time when the State is passing through a serious situation arising out of public unrest is very unfortunate and misleading," Gaikhangam said while adding that SPF Government led by O ibobi Singh is doing well and there is no threat to the Congress-led SPF Ministry.
