Lamka, October 07:
Dismissing the various interpretation of its statement by various sections of the public and certain organization that quit notice had already been given upon the meitei community, Hmar National Assembly today said it has not, at this juncture issue such notice yet.
'The genesis of the present state of imbroglio is an issue about the relief and rehabilitation for hundreds of people who fled from Parbung and Lungthulien and score of Hmar girls raped by UNLF and KCP cadres', stated the HNA statement.
The statement also questioned 'why valley based NGOs are playing spoil game and blame us (HNA) of our (their) policy when they deter and refrained from putting even a single voice of condemnation on the perpetrators of the crime and to urge the Government to redress the genuine grievances and legitimate demands of the Hmar people.' Even as the HNA release declare that its stands for peaceful co-existence among different communities living in the State, it downrightly adds, 'HNA would have no option but starting after 2nd Novermber, 2006 it would take step it thought fit' if the State Government still remain adamant to their demands and proposals.
As, the HNA thinks it has a moral obligation and was duty bound to take-up the cause of its people.
