Yoshiko Chuma talks about Manipur at New York City

Choreographer Yoshiko Chuma of the School, of Hard Knocks, New York, and L. Somi Roy invited about 50 members of the Dance and Arts Community of New York, to present her dance workshop in Imphal which was part of Re:PLAY Internesenal Film Kumhei (January 11-15, 2012). The party was hosted by Zette Emmons of the Newark Museum at her loft in Lower Manhattan.
Special invitees included Maharaja Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman of Tripura, Babloo Loitongbam of Human Rights Alert, and Binalakshmi Nepram, of Control Arms Foundation of India, who were guests of North American Manipur Association (NAMA), which was represented at the gathering by Rajeshwar Laishram, President, and Manjarita Laishram, Vice President.
Alexandra Viets also made a presentation on her screenwriting workshop for Re:PLAY. Other guests included Douglas Dunn, choreographer; Ralph Lee, designer; Geoffrey Coll lawyer; Kathy Brew and Roberto Guerra, filmmakers; Grahame Weinbren, video artist; and choreographers Christopher Williams and Ursula Eagly, whose works were also shown in Imphal.
