Written obituary
Isaac Inkah *
To Kanpatliu
I offer an apology
On behalf of your beloved people
And most importantly,
The government of Sanaleibak.
Can you see
We all are busy finding a scapegoat
To blame and vent our anger on-
With our finite empathy
And decades of government apathy!
But I know after a while
This dusty storm will settle down
And social media warriors will be busy fighting another battle working overtime-
As if they are born to fight!
Remember,
They will go wherever the wind blows.
It' s a lip service
From the people and the government!
The dispensary in the village was found empty
And the staff are busy
Kissing the feet of the ministers
For permitting them to work
From home some 50 kms away.
We just use your sad destiny
To wake up- occasionally
Like we usually do, all these years.
But you have fought the power in your name
And left us with a saving grace.
(dedicated to late.Kanpatliu Kahmei.)
